It can be used to analyze any indicator corresponding to a proportion calculated from a survey with a two-stage sample design. prevR is an additional package for the free and opensource statistical software R (http://www.r-project.org/). prevR can import data, format them and map the prevalence of a phenomenon by estimates of the prevalence of each surveyed point and space interpolation. The results can then be exported towards other software of statistics or software of cartography. prevR was developed by Joseph Larmarange (PopInter, Paris 5 University) in the ANRS 12114 project on “Measure and estimates of HIV prevalence in Subsaharan Africa”. This project, supported by ANRS (french national research agency on HIV/AIDS), is carried by IRD (Institute of Research for the Development) in France and Centre Muraz in Burkina Faso. prevR is officially distributed on the website of CEPED (Center Population and Development) at http://www.ceped.org/prevR/. prev is distributed under the licence CeCILL-C. %A Larmarange, Joseph %D 2007
